Police seize evidence from Firli’s rest house at Kertanegara 46

Polda Metro Jaya conducted a search at a house on Jalan Kertanegara No 46 Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, which was rented by KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri. From the location, which is Firli’s rest house, the police confiscated a number of pieces of evidence.
“There is some evidence that we confiscated at the Kertanegara No. 46 house search spot,” Jakarta Metro Police Director of Criminal Investigation Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak told reporters at Polda Metro Jaya, Jakarta, Friday (27/10/2023).

Ade Safri did not specify what evidence was confiscated. He only said that his party had consolidated after the search on Thursday (26/10) yesterday.

“So the results of the searches that we conducted yesterday were consolidated last night, and then today’s agenda is that investigators are still examining several witnesses,” he said.

Apart from Kertanegara 46, the search was carried out at Firli Bahuri’s house located at Vila Galaxy A2 Number 60, Bekas.i. The search there lasted for 2.5 hours.

Ade Safri said the search was carried out in order to find evidence related to the alleged extortion of former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL)

“This is an effort made by joint investigators of Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro jaya together with Dittipikor Bareskrim Polri to find and collect evidence, which with that evidence will make light of criminal acts that occur and find the suspect,” he explained.

Kertanegara House Owner Investigated
Furthermore, today Polda Metro Jaya scheduled the examination of other witnesses. One of them is the owner of the house at Kertanegara 46 which was rented by Firli.

“(Witness examination) starting from the owner of the Kertanegara 46 house, who is scheduled to be examined today at 10.00 WIB on the 21st floor of the Promoter building, the examination room for investigators of the Subdittipikor Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya,” he said.

Lawyer Claims Nothing Was Seized
Previously, Firli’s attorney, Ian Iskandar, said no evidence was seized from Firli’s house. The search at Firli’s house in Bekasi lasted for 3 hours.

“Today’s activity is that the Polda investigators carried out search actions starting from 12.30 WIB until completion. Approximately 3 hours and a half they conducted a search of Mr. Firli’s private house,” Ian told reporters in front of the Perum Gardenia Vila Galaxy Bekasi complex, Thursday (26/10).

Ian admitted that no evidence was brought by the police after searching Firli’s house. He also explained that the police did not ask any questions during the search.

“There were no questions, no questions whatsoever. They came to introduce themselves and then gave letters related to the search requirements of the search permit, that’s all,” he added.
